Severe Weather Update 8: March 2026 Kona Low Storm

Details 

As storm impacts are being felt on Oahu, emergency officials ask the public to use 911 for emergency situations only.

Call 911 Use HNL 311

911 should be used to report life-threatening storm impacts such as fast moving or fast rising floodwaters in a roadway or you home or a downed tree blocking a roadway.

Non-life threatening impacts should be reported via the City’s HNL 311 app. These would include downed trees that do not pose an immediate danger or flooding that is not on a roadway and is not posing an immediate threat to life.

Shelter information: 
Residents are also remind the public that emergency shelters remain open across the island. Locations and details can be viewed at https://p.veoci.com/hnlshelter. Shelters are pet friendly but pets must be on a leash or in a carrier. Residents are encouraged to bring whatever supplies they would need to be comfortable with them if they are able. Shelters have limited resources on hand during the storm.
